Testing Machines is releasing the New Internal Bond™ Tester.
In November, 2007, the TAPPI testing committee revised test method T 569 Internal Bond Strength (Scott Type) from a pm-PROVISIONAL METHOD to an om-OFFICIAL METHOD. The Provisional Method T 569 for Internal Bond was first published in 2000. In order to upgrade T 569 to Official Method status, a Precision Statement was developed to demonstrate the instruments reproducibility when compared with a group of Internal Bond Instruments at different laboratory locations. Based on the data, it should be noted that the reproducibility between laboratories for the Electronic Internal Bond Instrument is 23.7% compared to 47.1 % for the Mechanical Internal Bond Tester.
Also in November 2007, Testing Machines Inc, a TMI Group Company made trials on a completely redesigned Electronic Internal Bond Tester. Based on the revised TAPPI Standard T 569, the company tested a variety of paper samples and concluded that the new mechanical design, software calculations and Sample Prep Station completely conform to this revised TAPPI standard. In December 2007, the TMI Group is pleased to introduce the NEW model 80-20 microprocessor based Internal Bond tester. The new design includes a number of important features such as:
